History of Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds

Since 1994, we have poured our heart and soul into making Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds a rustic, yet elegant vacation getaway destination. We welcome you to get to know our family below and learn how Willow Winds came to be.

In search of land in North Carolina, our family stumbled upon the property that we now call Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds. We fell in love with the area’s natural beauty and charming cabins and wanted to share it with others. So, the restoration of the cabins began, and combined with the later purchase of adjoining properties, Willow Winds grew to the 25 cabins we now have today.

The name Willow Winds was inspired by an old sign we found on the property. Willow Winds later became Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds. In keeping within the family, all cabins are named after relatives and close friends of the family.

Meet the family:

Beginning in 1994, Sandy and Mike purchased the property. Pat, sister of Sandy, began by taking reservations from her house. Later they built a separate office on the property so that guests would always have direct access to information and assistance with their vacation.

In 1997, John Michael, Sandy’s nephew, joined the team and later became the maintenance manager. In 2014, Pat retired and Donna, Pat’s daughter, became Office Manager.

In 2021, Sandy and Mike retired after many wonderful years. Gary and Diane, with a great family of their own, will cherish the property like Sandy and Mike have, making it one of the top places for cabin rentals in Asheville, NC. We have a wonderful staff and consider us all family.

The next time you are looking for a vacation, let our family welcome your family to Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds!
