One great way to enjoy the Asheville Bluegrass First Class Festival is to stay at one of our Asheville luxury Mountain cabins, which provide easy access to the festival site.

The festival is being held Feb. 14-16 at the Crowne Plaza Resort.

Now in its 19th year, this annual event attracts famous and lesser-known bluegrass bands alike. Not only will you see them on stage, you will also catch them jamming in the corner of the hotel lobby or putting on an intimate performance in the hotel lounge.

Local musician and instructor Wayne Erbsen will hold banjo, mandolin, guitar and fiddle workshops for $35 each. And if you’re trying to cultivate the next big name in bluegrass, enter your child in the free Bluegrass First Class Kids Academy.

Tickets cost $49 per day or $98 for both days. Sunday’s gospel concert is free to all ticket holders.

This year’s lineup includes:

Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Lou Reid & Carolina, Newton & Thomas, the Crazy Water Crystals, Sons of Bluegrass and Amethyst

Saturday

Dailey & Vincent, Seldom Scene, The Rambling Rooks with Ronnie Bowman and Flatt Lonesome

Asheville has been a hotbed of bluegrass music ever since Bill Monroe got his start playing for a local radio station. The city continues to incubate up-and-coming bluegrass bands and frequently hosts the best bands out there.

Staying in an Asheville Mountain resort cabin will give you the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of our mountains and forests while also enjoying the festival and the best our town has to offer.
