One of the nicest things about living in the Western North Carolina area is the abundance of fresh produce, flowers, herbs and responsibly-produced goods. We are lucky to be surrounded by devoted producers, with a natural environment that not only produces in surplus, but inspires.
WNC Farmer’s Market
The Western North Carolina Farmer’s Market is the largest one in the area at over 35 acres. Easily accessible from the highway system and offers a sandwich and ice cream shop. The best thing is , it’s open 8:00 – 5:00 pm every day! Moose Cafe is a local southern restaurant that is located close, and Jesse Isreal’s is a nursery not too far from the market. Visit May 3 – 5, 2019 for the Asheville Herb Festival.
Asheville City Market

This market is located “North” in downtown, or “South” at Biltmore Park Towne Square. Either is a popular option that you can either visit Saturday 8 am – Noon (downtown) or Wednesday Noon – 4 pm (South Asheville). The stalls have a variety of goods, including freshly cut flowers, organic produce and leather goods. The downtown location has easy parking at the Home Trust Bank or lot next to the YMCA. Takes place April to December and everything gets moved to the Masonic Temple in January. However, nothing beats the market on a warm summer morning!
North Asheville Tailgate Market
Western North Carolina’s oldest producer-only farmer’s market! This market takes place at the University of North Carolina Asheville campus Saturdays 8 am – Noon, April to November. Try Farm and Sparrow bread, with Imladris Farms jam! Honestly, trust us on this.
Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds offers one, two and three bedroom cabins located within the Asheville city limits, so you won’t be too far from fresh, locally produced goods. These goods highlight the beauty of Asheville’s sustainable and responsible reputation.
