Biltmore Blooms
The Biltmore Estate is the premier place to experience springtime blooms in Asheville. Starting on the first day of April and running through May 26, visitors can escape to the Biltmore Estate for a unique spring experience. Feel encapsulated with an array of colors as Biltmore Blooms transforms its gardens and grounds.
The estate plants 100,000 bulbs, including the 75,000 tulips planted at the main entrance and 14,000 daffodils, plus many more. As spring progresses, certain flowers and trees peak at certain times throughout the season. Plan your trip with a timeline of blooms during the festival:
April
Kicking off the season in early April, the 15,000 daffodils are the main focus at the Walled Garden. While early tulip varieties start to make their appearance. In mid-April, the seasonal tulip and daffodil displays steal the show right now. The Walled Garden is the best tulip display at the estate with over 75,000 bulbs planted. Dogwoods, redbuds, and berry trees bloom for a beautiful backdrop. Early blooms of azaleas are beginning to flower and their intensity will increase through April, creating a beautiful display in the Azalea Garden.
May
Coming into the month of May, it’s peak time in the 20-acre azalea garden with a variety of hues in shades of pink, purple, orange, red, and white. May is also a great time to take a hike on the walking trails to see blooms throughout the estate. Be sure to also stop and smell the roses in the rose garden that smells just as good as it looks. The Walled Garden is taken over with summer perennials as we head into the summer months.
Monet and Friends
While you are there exploring the beautiful blooms, be sure to also get tickets to their latest exhibit, Monet and Friends. The exhibit pays homage to Claude Monet and other Impressionist painters through the paintings themselves and a historical timeline of the Impressionist era. Immerses yourself in the Impressionists’ masterworks as they come to life in a stunning display of light, color, and sound in this fully immersive art experience.
