2. If I don’t want to use the online form, can I call the office and make my reservations?

Absolutely! You may phone the office at any time during business hours and make a reservation. Our office is located on the Willow Winds property. It is the first building on the left-hand side after you enter the gates and is open seven days a week. The friendly, knowledgeable staff will be able to answer any questions and will be happy to guide you through the reservation process. To reserve a cabin we require your name, address, e-mail, contact phone numbers, and payment information.

3. Do I have to make a deposit when I make my reservations?

Yes. At the time the reservation is made, we require a deposit of one-half of the total room rate, cleaning fee, and tax. Make sure to read all our policies before making your reservation.

4. What type of pre-arrival instructions should I expect?

After making the reservation we will process your card in the office. You will then be sent a confirmation email with arrival, departure dates and what you have paid, and the balance due upon arrival. We ask that you look it over and just reply to the email saying that you accept the terms & conditions and that the arrival and departure dates are correct … Essentially everything looks good. Other than this, we do not need anything else from you until you arrive. If you have any questions or need any help in planning your trip do not hesitate to contact us.

Our trout pond is stocked with fish several times each year. Canned corn works just fine as bait and the corner gas station has worms for the traditionalists. Did you forget your pole? The neighborhood Walmart (just a few miles from us) has everything you need. A small inexpensive pole, some corn, and a little patience just might catch your dinner! You are welcome to catch and eat or catch and release in our pond, you are not allowed to catch and fill coolers. When guests choose to leave their poles behind we do loan them out to other guests but can’t guarantee that there will be one available. Ask the office.

All of our cabins have their private hot tub. Most are located on your lower patio/deck just outside the bedrooms. One-bedroom cabins have a cozy two-person hot tub and the two-bedroom cabins and three-bedroom cabins have larger ones. The tubs are maintained several times a week and we strictly monitor the water quality. If a tub requires it, we may have to drain / scrub / and refill your tub during your stay. The water will take a while to reheat. Check with the office for any questions and concerns.

17. How are the roads? How are they in winter?

We have hard-packed gravel roads here at Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds. They are not difficult at all for any car or person to travel. Yes, we are on a mountain side but that does not mean we are hard to get to. Any vehicle car or truck from a Prius to a pickup truck can make it around with no problems. In the winter we rarely have enough snow to hinder the road conditions but if we do our crew plows the roads and shovels the walkways. It does help to have a 4×4 or AWD vehicle in the rare event of heavy snow.

18. Do you have a pool?

No, we do not have a pool on the property.

19. Are the cabins private?

Yes, we at Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds have done a lot to ensure that our guests enjoy privacy whether it is on the back porch, the hot tub, or inside the cabin. The cabins have been built in a staggered positioning pattern (not just in a straight row next to one another). We also have extensively landscaped around the cabins with trees and bushes to create a buffer zone which not only helps with seeing others but also keeps the sound down from one back porch to another.

It is very tempting to plan too much to see and do here in the Asheville area – there is always something going on! But be sure to slow down, explore our incredible property, and just immerse yourself in the Comfort, Luxury, and Serenity that is Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds.
Here at Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds, you can spend a day playing, relaxing, and restoring your spirits without ever leaving the grounds. Take a slow leisurely hike around the grounds, count the fountains, gardens, and waterfalls, discover new varieties of plants, and delight in the quiet woodland setting. At dawn or dusk enjoy the view from your deck and keep an eye out for wildlife. We have a nesting pair of red hawks, turkeys, deer, and an occasional bear who visit the property.

Challenge your friends/family to a game of air hockey, ping pong, foosball, skeeball, shuffleboard, or basketball on the free game porch. Enjoy an old-fashioned game of horseshoes, bocce ball, or match wits on the life-sized chess set. Two playgrounds will delight the kids with slides, jungle gym, badminton nets, and tetherball. Our water balloon launching station will be a hit with young and old with filling stations and catapults to launch the balloons at one another.

The Mountains to Sea Hiking trail is at the top of the property and parallels the Blue Ridge Parkway in this section. Be sure to pace yourself on the trail as it is not a loop & turn around to come back to Willow Winds. Swing gently with the breezes under the trees in one of our hammocks with a good book or for a nap. In the winter months order in from Takeout Central and enjoy a fireside picnic in front of your real wood-burning seasonal (mid-October through mid-May) fireplace (we provide the wood!).
