5 star ratingSerene Mountain Retreat Just Outside Asheville, NC We loved our getaway visit to Jessie's Magnolia at the Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds! We live on the NC coast now but wanted a winter retreat in the mountains , and met our adult children there for three nights. The cozy wood burning fireplace and spacious hot tub were great for relaxing and we relished being on top of the hill, looking out on the woods and rocking on the back porch. Evenings also found us enjoying our traditional, competitive family board games! We traveled to nearby Chimney Rock and falls and had great hikes and views there, then lunched in Asheville at the lovely Corner Kitchen. On Saturday, my son and I enjoyed catching (and releasing) four nice trout in the pond on the property just below our cabin. We also took in a fun tour at the Sierra Nevada brewery near the airport. If you are tired of cookie-cutter motels and are looking for an escape to the serenity of the woods and a mountain cabin, I highly recommend Willow Winds! Robert B.

Our family of 5 stayed at Don's Den during Christmas 2023. This was a memorable experience! The cabin was just 15 minutes from downtown Asheville but it felt like it was secluded in a remote wooded area. The surrounding area was quite and serene near a beautiful pond. The house itself had everything we needed, plenty of supplies, a great fireplace with wood already there and a gorgeous hot tub that we enjoyed. We highly recommend this lodging for those who visit Asheville!

The willow winds resort is in a great location, near restaurants and activities. The cabins are comfortable and clean with good amenities. Really enjoyed the private hot tub. Rated service lower because I miss the interaction with the office personnel. Since covid, there is less interaction with the office staff.

Always a pleasure to stay at Willow Winds. The cabins are homey and comfortable with firewood delivered daily. The rustic setting is relaxing and quiet. The full kitchen was used multiple times each day during our stay.
At this most recent stay, a minor issue with spectrum internet was managed quickly & efficiently by the maintenance staff. The issue was not of Willow winds making yet was handled for us by them. This level of service is what we’ve come to appreciate at the cabins.

We love Willow Winds! The cabins are secluded, but close to things we like to do.
The cabins are clean and well taken care of. The reason i gave only 4 stars is because the sheets did not appear to be clean. I always pull the sheets down and look at them with my phone light, and they obviously were not fresh sheets. Which really grosses me out! Also, the faucet in the downstairs bathroom needs to be replaced. It was very hard to turn on.
Other than those 2 things, everything looked good and we had a wonderful time!

Things we learned at Willow Winds
1. The songs of the forest drown out the noise of the busy world.
2. The Blue Ridge Trail is misty and magical. We found beautiful walking sticks and carved them late into the night down by the hot tub.
3. The Street Artists in Asheville are brilliant!
4. Don’t stick a walking stick into a bee hive! (9 stings later!!)
5. This is one of the most serene places and we love it!

First time here but definitely NOT the last!!! Cabin everything possible! We came to enjoy Asheville out on the town, but this cabin and everything the property offers made it so we didn’t have to go anywhere (or want to go anywhere!). A truly incredible and amazing experience! Can’t wait to come back!!! Thank you Mary!!

From the moment we walked in we felt we were home. Cozy, Warm, Inviting Environment. The view is spectacular. Sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee in the early am makes you feel so serene. You feel like you are miles away from civilization yet you are minutes away from everything. I celebrated my 60th birthday in this lovely setting and it’s a memory I’ll always cherish. Thank you Willow Winds for a Wonderful Stay!
Roz (Charlotte, NC )

I have wanted to see the Biltmore for 20+ years. So, I decided on my 60th birthday we’d make a girls trip out of it. Jessie’s Magnolia is perfect and has everything you could want or need. The view and surrounding scenery is gorgeous! The staff at the office are super friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back to visit! Thanks for the hospitality!

A wonderful stay. We were a family of five spanning three generations and we all loved it! We had planned a lot activities but ended up spending a lot of time here instead. We have found our home in Asheville! Don’t want to leave but we will be back!!
The Uppuluri’s (Charlotte, NC )

Coming up from Florida we have never seen such a beautiful part of the world. The cabin was remarkable. We stayed two nights, total cumulative time the four of us watched tv – 2 minutes – says it all!

A most wonderful getaway! Relaxing, restorative and peaceful! The cabin is a wonderful place to enjoy long quiet peaceful mornings and a beautiful place to remember all there is to be grateful for. My family and I really enjoyed our stay and are hoping to come back again soon for a longer stay. Thank you Willow Winds! Hope everyone finds as much peace in their stay as we did in ours!

Awesome! Not the hustle and bustle of a hotel. Peace and serenity. I will be back!

This was our first official “family vacation” with our 7 month old son – and it was wonderful! Biltmore, breweries, hiking and sight seeing…this place has it all! We loved where we stayed as Willow Winds has the feel of a cabin in the woods but with all the comforts of home and close to everything! Thanks so much, we look forward to coming back when our boy is older!
Christa, Paul, & Tyler (Hersey, PA)

Perfect! Our family had a very relaxing 3 days at Irene’s Oak. The weather was gorgeous, the fish were biting and the kids enjoyed all the outdoor games. We will be back ! Thanks!
Jon, Sarah, Isabelle, & Brett (Kettering, OH )

The fishing was great! Lots of catches, smiles, sunshine and they tasted great too!! Fun with family, especially the grandson. He really liked the playgrounds and not being held up in a hotel room. The staff took good care of us. Thanks for the memories.

We came here to celebrate our second wedding anniversary and we loved Andrew’s Attic the second we opened the door. The fireplace, bed & hot tub along with the romantic package warmed my heart. My husband and I plan on returning during the warmer months of 2015. Looking forward to returning and thanks for everything.
Marrise & Nicole (Charleston, SC)

We came here to celebrate our one year anniversary for a few days and we wish we could have stayed for two weeks!! We definitely plan to come back to this amazing cabin in the future. The layout, hot tub and amenities all provided for an awesome romantic weekend away. Cedrics’ Tavern and Posana Café were our favorite food choices (seriously amazing) and we enjoyed all the beautiful fall leaves and views everywhere we went. THANK YOU for everything!!
Julia & Adam (Dayton, Ohio)

Each time we arrive it is like taking a deep breath and then exhaling all of our cares. The solitude, the beauty, the green. Our 5th visit most right here in Andrew’s. We love Willow Winds enough to keep visiting Asheville for years to come.
Scott & Erika (Celebration, FL )

A wonderful, peaceful, relaxing, quiet, renewing respite for 2 local parent caretakers. Andrew’s Attic and Willow Winds were perfect for our “staycation”. Your attention to detail on the grounds and in the cabins contributed to the pleasant two days we spent here. Thank you. We will be back!
Valerie & Edwin (Hendersonville, NC )

This is our 2nd visit to Andrew’s Attic and we find that we love it more each time we visit! It is a perfect get away – so romantic and peaceful! We’re counting the days until we can return!
Greg & Mary (Raleigh, NC)

Willow Winds was the perfect weekend getaway! The most wonderful man in the world proposed to me under the rose trellis at the Biltmore Gardens. Why of course I said Yes! It was the perfect romantic weekend. I love you Wes! I love you Nancy!
Nancy & Wes

After our marriage my husband and I wanted to get away for a quiet getaway. Willow Winds exceeded all of our expectations! The cabin was immaculate, the people were friendly and we enjoyed being so close to all the places we wanted to go. This was an amazing weekend that we enjoyed to the fullest extent. We would recommend the 5 Walnut Wine bar, Wicked Weed and The Curate – the greatest little tapas bar. We will be back to vacation with our three children soon!
Mike & Suzette (Fuquay Varina, NC )

My fiancé and I stayed here over the July 4th weekend. What a wonderful getaway! We loved the grounds, fountains, and pond. We never made it to the fireworks but instead enjoyed a relaxing evening in the hot tub while listening to the fireworks around us. We made it to six waterfalls around us. Looking Glass being our favorite. The Biltmore is a must see. Only complaint is that there wasn’t enough time to see everything but it is a good reason to come back.
We loved the rustic cabin (Chris’s) and it’s natural beauty. Loved all the initials carved into the beams in the bedroom.
Thank you for providing such a beautiful getaway!
Michele & Paul (Chesapeake, VA)

My husband and I enjoyed our 4th wedding anniversary here in Chris’ Cabin. We loved the rustic cabin and the beautiful grounds. We visited Dupont State Park to see the sites where the Hunger Games was filmed and thought it was beautiful there. We packed a picnic as suggested by the staff here. We enjoyed the fishing pond and hot tub very much. The bed was very comfy. The cabin was clean and cozy. We would have loved to see a bear! Maybe next time. Thank you Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds!
Jeff & Debbie (Greenup, KY)

We really enjoyed our stay here at Chris’s Cabin. It was clean, charming & cozy and the staff were very friendly. The location was perfect for everything we came here to do. The food & scenery i Asheville are amazing! Thank you for a great vacation!

What a Blessing Willow Winds has Been! Sapphire cabin has been our first experience in Asheville together and I can’t imagine anything being any better. The quiet, restful & private atmosphere has been delightful. We celebrated our 21st anniversary there for three days and only regret that we didn’t stay longer! Nothing like a hot tub after breakfast! Thank you all for this, we are coming back!
Paul & Stacy (Hickory, NC )

We were here for a family wedding / reunion and could not have asked for a more comfortable, friendly, and beautiful location. The cabin was well appointed for our two adults and toddler. We enjoyed all the grounds had to offer and we would love to come back.
Fryer Family (Portland OR)

Wow the attention to detail ROCKS!! Willow Winds has thought of everything!! We had the sweetest sleep too!! More adventures here we come.
Sue & Geoff (Victoria BC Canada)

Emily and I stayed at Willow Winds while attending a wedding nearby and to celebrate our recent engagement. We were struck by the comfort of the cabin and beauty of the surround grounds. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time to explore the property here. For that, I am sure we will return soon. Thank you for a warm, comfortable and memorable stay!
Derek & Emily (Jeffersonville, VT )

We had a blast! My husband & I stayed for a much needed vacation. Loved the cabin – slept late every day. Staff was great. We fished everyday and traveled to historic Asheville. Could not have asked for a more wonderful vacation! Plan to come back in the fall
Carol & Curtis (Ft. Smith, AR )

We really enjoyed our stay at Sophia’s Sapphire. It was a cozy little cabin that provided everything we needed and more. We loved how the cabin way laid out and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back to enjoy another wonderful experience. Thank you for making our anniversary a very special and unforgettable experience. Thank you!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay here. This was the best honeymoon that we ever could have dreamed of. We were so close to everything in Asheville. We enjoyed the hot tub and the coziness of the cabin. We shall return again!

The Fountains are AWESOME! The (one of many) enjoyable aspects of staying here is that never leaving the house is as wonderful as touring Asheville. The natural setting, the privacy, the sound of the fountains, and the hammocks. It’s a retreat in the midst of a retreat. The icing on the cake is how gracious, helpful and easy going everyone we dealt with at the office was. The bedding, beds, household furnishings – all top quality and greatly ap0preciated. Asheville is such a fun, interesting place with such a variety of attractions – great to go visit and play – then come home to Donna’s Diamond. With much appreciation.
Edith, Lisa & Antoinette (Hatteras Island NC)

My wife surprised me for my 50th B-Day and here I am at Willow Winds. Today is the last day of our 5 day stay. I don’t want to leave! I find myself thinking of ways to go AWOL From my regular life but the realities set in and I am packed to leave Donna’s Diamond. A Diamond she is! A Retreat from reality, a place to regenerate, and for me, a place to open the gate of new ideas. We love Asheville and Donna’s Diamond. We Shall Return!
Phil & Sandy (New Castle, PA )

This was our first stay and I’m usually quite verbose – but in a word – wonderful! Made many lovely memories on this trip. Wish we were stationed here longer, but hope this stay won’t ruin future cabin adventures in other places. Hard to Top!
Holly, Daniel, Parcher, & Sterling (Sumter, SC )

This was our first stay at Willow Winds in Asheville, NC. Our stay at Willow Winds was so incredibly quiet! Today we don’t want to leave! In Asheville there is so much to do. We went on the Ghost Tours. Which we highly recommend if you are into those things. If you want Pizza go to Circle in the square in downtown. There is also an ice cream place next to the pizza place that has awesome ice-cream. Also if you are a Hunger Games fan we recommend going to Dupont State Forest. That’s where they filmed a lot of the scenes in the movie. This is an incredible place. We are also wanting to move here once our children are graduated. You’ve made a great decision coming to stay at Willow Winds. By the way the front office lady; Mary was so polite and helpful.
Melissa, Doug, Mindy & Derek (Fredericksburg, VA)

This was our 1st visit to Willow Winds and Asheville NC. Our stay in Donna’s Diamond was wonderful, peaceful, and so relaxing we didn’t want to leave and go back to Philadelphia. The cabins was clean, beautifully decorated and isolated from your neighbors. The staff in the office, especially Pat & Mary were so helpful with information so we could get around Asheville. Trout pond was great, we caught 4 fish, released them – one was 14 inches or more. We fell in love with the area, people, and what Asheville has to offer so much that we are considering retiring here in 2 years. Went whitewater rafting with Blue Heron. Sandy, our guide, was wonderful. We did a day trip with lunch.
Joe & Sue (Philadelphia, PA)

We loved the cabin! So comfortable and clean. Hot tub was amazing. Beautiful & Peaceful. Would highly recommend!
Shawn & Peter (Howell, NJ)

This cabin is so beautiful! You made our trip amazing with such a beautiful place to stay. We loved the fireplace, the beautiful views, the wood ceilings, everything about the grounds. We will certainly be visiting Willow Winds again!
Rob & Bekah (Goose Creek, SC)

Awesome cabin, great location and heavenly bed. We thoroughly enjoyed 4 delightful days here with pleasant warm sunny days and cool evenings. We suggest: Grove Park Inn & lunch on the terrace. Copper River for dinner. The Biltmore, of course, Lunch in the Stablehouse, Chimney Rock & Lake Lure, App. Trail, Biltmore Village, Corner Kitchen for lunch, Black Bear Pizza, & Moose Café – awesome food (too much!).
Rick & Linda (Franklin, TN)

Thank you! This was our first visit and we are very sad to leave! We had an AMAZING time! It was the perfect vacation for my birthday! We will definitely have to return again for more relaxation time!
Tameeka & Twanna (Wilmington, NC)

Thank you so much for your friendly, attentive, excellent hospitality and care. This was a wonderful experience, and I hope not our last.
Andrew & Milli (LouJisville KY)

We always enjoy our stay with the folks at Willow Winds. Our favorite cabin is Jess’ Magnolia. The cabins are immaculate, well-stocked, very comfortable, and super convenient to downtown as well as major routes into and out of Asheville. The folks who run this delightful get away are kind, helpful, professional, & invested in the comfort and happiness of each and every guest. We are truly grateful to have such a wonderful spot to call our home away from home in Asheville! We live at the beach but need a little mountain life too, we stay at the cabins in the spring and in the fall. We’d stay more often if we had more time off!
