Asheville’s Winter Warmer Beer Festival keeps getting bigger and better every year, and if you stay at one of our Asheville luxury cabins and go check it out, you’ll see what we mean.
The Winter Warmer will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Jan. 25 this year.
All of Asheville’s local microbreweries will be there, from Pisgah to Wicked Weed. In addition, this great festival also attracts the best breweries from Western North Carolina and beyond, such as Olde Hickory and Thomas Creek. Some brand new breweries in 2014 will include District 9, which just opened in November in Charlotte.
Each year, the festival organizers invite a special guest or two from afar – something that can’t usually be found in Asheville. This year’s guest breweries are Surly from Minnesota and Big Storm from Florida.
Three major West Coast names who have located their East Coast brewery/distribution centers here will also be on hand – Sierra Nevada, New Belgium and Oskar Blues.
Expect to see some special beers on tap from many of these craft beer makers, who love to showcase their talents at this connoisseur’s event.
The Winter Warmer is held in the Asheville Civic Center arena, a perfect location for visitors who also want to see downtown. Food will be served at the festival, but you can also plan on eating lunch or dinner (or both) at one of the city’s many great local restaurants. And if one of the local breweries strikes your fancy, there’s a good chance it might be located within walking distance if you need to pick up some souvenirs.
