asheville-restaurant-headerasheville-restaurant-header January 21-27 So many couples on Asheville romantic getaways tell us they have their favorite restaurants in town, but can’t bring themselves to step out of their comfort zone and try something different. That’s understandable – if you know you like one restaurant, why spend your hard-earned money on a meal you might not like? We happen to think the nearly 250 independent restaurants here are all delicious, but there is a solution. Asheville Restaurant Week offers patrons a chance to sample restaurants at four different discounted rates. The event is being held this year from Jan. 21-27. Two people can eat dinner for either $20 or $30, and one person can eat a two course lunch for $15 or a three-course dinner for $30. Different restaurants participate at different price tiers, but the offerings provide a great deal any which way, with generous portions of fantastic food designed to showcase each menu’s strengths. Asheville’s culinary scene has attracted national media attention. Most recently, Southern Living named us one of the “Tastiest Towns in the South,” and other mentions have come from Zagat, Fodor’s, Good Morning America and TripAdvisor. The sheer variety of culinary styles surprises many visitors, with everything from ethnic to down home barbeque.
