There are no shortage of beautiful areas to take a cool dip in water near Asheville during this warm weather season. Whether very popular or hardly known, there are options for your vacation that offer inexpensive fun in nature. Please note: exercise caution whenever getting in any natural body of water, as heavy rain can create stronger currents.

Dupont Waterfalls

Hooker Falls is one of the beautiful waterfalls located at Dupont State Forest, a gorgeous wooded oasis of waterfalls and untouched nature. This waterfall is a calm, cool spot with so much to offer to families wanting to relax. Only 30 miles from Willow Winds! Free access to the waterfalls and hikes, as well as restrooms close to parking.

Skinny Dip Falls

Don't let the name fool you - Skinny Dip Falls is family friendly! What it offers is a relatively secluded waterfall with gorgeous surroundings and (usually) calm waters.  The pool at the bottom of the "jumping rock" is 6 feet deep, but there isn't a lifeguard on duty, so please use caution. Located on Milepost 417 off the Blue Ridge Parkway, at Looking Glass Rock Overlook.

Sliding Rock

The most popular falls in North Carolina, and it is just a short drive from our property! This is a unique waterfall experience, with a 60 ft. sloped, smooth rock acting as a giant water slide to carry you off to the 8 foot deep pool at the bottom. The water is chilly, but there isn't a better way to cool off during the warmest days. There is a lifeguard on duty 10 - 6 pm during premium season (Memorial day through Labor Day), and the cost during this time is $3 per person. Our guests can stop by the office anytime during our business hours to receive a card with directions to Sliding Rock, which is advisable as GPS is sometimes unreliable.

Our luxury cabins are located on a lush woodland 40 acres, with a soothing stream and green space to walk around and take in the beauty of the Western North Carolina mountains. So tranquil, yet only a 15 minute drive to our happening downtown scene.
