Asheville is your ideal travel destination for 2020. Here’s why.

Individual at an art gallery in Asheville

With a beautiful city full of fun entertainment options, eclectic restaurants pushing the envelope, and a natural environment that is famous all over the world, Asheville is an ideal travel destination for 2020. We have a lot of guests visit our office and ask “what’s there to do in Asheville” and the answer is usually an emphatic “What do you like?” Chances are, you’ll find your new favorite activity, restaurant or beer in our friendly mountain city.

More of an indoor explorer?

Asheville has a (playable) pinball museum, a board game cafe and more shopping than you can shake a stick at. After a long wait, our renovated Asheville Art Museum is not only a stunning building. This building houses some of the best in Appalachian art and traveling exhibitions. Finish the visit at the Perspective Cafe situated at the top of the building with a stunning view of downtown and a local cheese plate and wine. If you are a music lover, visit one of Asheville’s intimate music venues.

Want to get outside?

There’s fishing, rafting, tubing, ziplining and horseback riding, not to even mention hiking which has become our local pastime of choice.

Want to relax in a spa experience?

We have some of the best spas for total relaxation and indulgence. SpaTheology is located downtown, and offers a truly local experience —  pampering with local beers and chocolate.

Are you a foodie with an bottomless pit?

Saddle up to the breakfast bar at Biscuit Head or Sunny Point Cafe, nosh on lunch at Baba Nahm or Corner Kitchen, and end the evening with dinner at Benne on Eagle or Buxton Hall Barbeque.

Are you a brew sommelier?

Well prepare your taste buds for a bouquet of hops with a local beer. Asheville has been deemed Beer City for a good reason: this is a beer lover’s paradise. There are brews for every taste, with places specializing in English darks, or even fruit sours. The wine lovers haven’t been left out, though. There is the winery at Biltmore, as well as a winery is the River Arts District called Pleb Urban Winery.

Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds offers one, two and three bedroom cabins located in the Asheville city limits. So even though you are only 5 miles from downtown (a very reasonable Uber/Lyft ride), you have a full cabin home nestled in the gorgeous North Carolina trees. Each cabin has it’s own wood-burning fireplace (open mid October to mid May), and year-round private hot tubs on the porch. You may not want to leave the cabin once you’re here! But if you do, these are the reasons why no matter your tastes, Asheville is an ideal travel destination for 2020. Click here for availability in our cabins!
