Chestoa View Overlook
Once parked, lace up your best hiking shoes and venture to a gorgeous hidden vista. While at the Chestoa View Overlook, you’ll catch a glimpse of some of Pisgah National Forest.
Looking Glass Rock
Milepost 417 is the best spot right off the Blue Ridge Parkway to see Looking Glass Rock. The geological formation bulges out from the ground and the monolith contrasts beautifully along vast forest.
Graveyard Fields
With a name like Graveyard Fields, you’d expect to hike through a spooky graveyard. It’s quite the opposite! The name came from wind-thrown tree trunks along the field, all resembling tombstones. They all unfortunately were destroyed by a fire in 1925, however, Graveyard Fields is still a terrific stop to hike and spot some waterfalls and wildlife.
Cowee Mountains Overlook
This overlook rests at one of the highest points on the Blue Ridge Parkway. At 5,950 feet above sea level, this stop has a vast view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With this being one of the best overlooks, there are ample parking spots available to see the sights of the North Carolina nature!
