Exciting new places to grab a bite to eat in Asheville

When visiting this city, you almost expect to overwhelmed with breweries – not that there’s anything wrong with that! Our reputation seems to precede us in that respect. However, you might be surprised at just how many new restaurants have popped up in the last year or so.

With diverse menu options, an emphasis on local sustainability, and a surplus of talented food producers and chefs, Asheville is proving to be a southern culinary paradise. Below are a few (of many) new restaurants sure to satisfy even the pickiest of palates.

Post 25 opened this year in a convenient South Asheville locale, and offers everything from steak with chimichurri sauce, to gyros, to a burger with French Morbier cheese. There is a bar serving craft cocktails and local beers, so you can settle in with loved ones without having to shuffle downtown and find parking.

Tacos and Taps is a new drive thru that opened just north of downtown on Merrimon Ave, and offers – as you might have guessed – tacos and (sealed) growlers of local beer. Of course, there is more to the menu than just that, but honestly, what more do you need?

Mountain Madre Mexican Kitchen and Agave Bar ….. a mouthful in more ways than one! Occupying a cozy spot downtown, this restaurants has a local twist on Mexican favorites like Carnitas and Pork Belly Tacos. There is also an agave bar, where patrons can sample different types of tequila.
