The 2009 season at the Cradle of Forestry starts with a celebration of a spring tradition- plowing the garden. David and Diane Burnett from Haywood County will be on hand with their pair of work horses and antique farming implements. Visitors can meet them, see the horses plow if weather allows, and try it themselves. Crafters will be on hand by historic cabins. Open hearth cooking will be demonstrated. Also the Cradle's antique logging locomotive will be moved out of its winter shelter. David may also pull out his clawhammer banjo!
