From the blog

I’m sitting on my favorite rocking chair on the large covered porch ~ looking down the grass hill, past the herb garden to the lovely fish and fountain pond, surrounded by thick trees of every description including two of my favorite ~ Weeping Willows.

The grill is heating; waiting for the lamb chops I bought at the Farmers Market this morning.

I enter the living room with the high ceiling, stone fireplace, leather couches and rocking chairs; which many years ago was a one room cabin.

Sunlight filters through one of the long glass sliding doors which through the other I see my hammock waiting for me.

I’m home again; “Pat’s Place” is mine.

Asheville experiencing milder temperatures than many areas of the US

With some spots in the US breaking records with extreme heat, we’ve been fortunate to have pleasant weather in Western North Carolina. Some areas of California have reached temperatures as hot as 118 degrees, and cities like Chicago and New York are experiencing much warmer than usual weather.

This week, temperatures in Asheville are predicted to hover in the mid 80’s. Relaxing outdoors at our fully-stocked trout pond is a sure-fire way to take advantage of this gorgeous weather! Another is to unwind on your back porch with a good book, or one of Asheville’s many craft beverages. Again and again, we hear from our guests how peaceful and calming our property is; beautifully manicured and carefully maintained. With a soothing stream, waterfalls and fountains, our woodland garden is the perfect place to take a walk and soak in the great outdoors. The mountain breeze makes swinging in the hammock outside your cabin a truly calming experience.

Some other suggestions for taking advantage of our nice weather:

Bask in the beauty of WNC and visit Dupont State Forest’s waterfalls. There, you can visit Triple Falls, a series of three waterfalls, each more breathtaking than the last. Also nearby is Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock, demonstrating why this area is referred to as the “Land of Waterfalls”. We recommend visiting early in the day, or ideally, on a weekday, as these landmarks are busy during the summer months.

Stroll the gardens of the magnificent Biltmore Estate. General admission gets you access to the house and gardens, as well as the shops and restaurants of Antler Hill Village. Ask us about our special admission tickets!

Explore your artistic side in Asheville’s River Arts District. Only 6 miles from our cabins, this studio district offers a concentration of artists of varying mediums in a scenic, walkable area.

For any recommendations/suggestions on how to enjoy the beautiful mountains of WNC, don’t hesitate to give us a call at (800)235-2474.

We found this wonderful place looking online. When we saw it we knew this is where we wanted to come. Beautiful scenery, cozy cabin, & hot tub!

We have really enjoyed our stay. Cabin is one of the best we have stayed in. The goodies in the tin and fridge was a nice surprise for us. Everything is Welcoming!!

We will gladly tell our friends of our stay & visit here. We enjoyed waking up to snow dusting on the ground. It felt like Home. Thanks!
