This was our first visit here and we love it. We hiked the trail up the hill, went to Biltmore and saw downtown Asheville. The accommodations have been quiet, soothing and comfortable. Thanks!

Kid-friendly Activities on our Property

Here at Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds, we understand the need for activities suitable for all ages. We pride ourselves on the many options to keep the little ones busy during your summer vacation!

Playgrounds: There are two playgrounds on the property, placed strategically to be of use to all cabins. There is a basketball court, tetherball, raquet ball, and playhouse/swing set.  We have a volleyball court with an option to play badminton. There is also an area behind our office that has disc golf, a bocce ball court, horseshoes and large chess set.

Water balloon stataion: Many guests’ favorite part of the property is the water balloon launching station. Open in the warmer months, this refreshing set up includes two opposing wooden forts with a heavy duty slingshot on each one. There is a tap for each side to fill the balloons, so everything is fair and square in the water war. Water balloons are provided and are available at our office.

Next to the office lies our Game Porch. This is a very popular area, especially during the warmer months! There is table tennis, foosball, air hockey, skee-ball, shuffleboard, hook and ring game, and two basketball arcade games. We also have hula hoops and jump rope on our game porch, so there is something for guests of all ages.

Hikes: There are trails all over our property, with beautiful plant life and water features that will calm even the busiest of minds. There is access to the Mountain-to-Sea Trail at the top of our property, which is a mild to moderate hike along the Blue Ridge Parkway (this trail is not a loop and is over 1000 miles long).

Trout pond: Many of our young guests catch their first fish at Willow Winds! Our fully-stocked trout pond is easily accessible, and the best part is you do not need a fishing license since it’s private property. You can catch-and-release, or, keep up to five fish per day to cook on your grill or freeze for the journey home.

A wonderful, peaceful, relaxing, quiet, renewing respite for 2 local parent caretakers. Andrew’s Attic and Willow Winds were perfect for our “staycation”. Your attention to detail on the grounds and in the cabins contributed to the pleasant two days we spent here. Thank you. We will be back!
