We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, well equipped comfortable cottage.

Wonderful to be so secluded and quiet ~ yet so close to shopping etc.

Such comfortable beds & pillows, a very important item indeed!

The grounds are lovely; even in early spring ~ love those fountains! Our thanks to Pat & Linda for being so friendly & accommodating.

Peak leaf color RIGHT NOW at Asheville Cabins

Every year is a guessing game. What week will the leaves hit their peak color brilliancy? This year, we’ve been given a late show, but the colors are slow to fade–meaning we will get a longer than usual display into November.

Elevations around 3000 feet are still seeing some beautiful colors, unusual for this late in the leaf season. Those locations below 3000 ft (downtown Asheville and Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds, for example) are just now starting to display the oranges and reds that we look forward to every year, and should only get more beautiful in the coming days.

A couple of local places to view these leaves at peak:

* The NC Arboretum

*Chimney Rock Park

*The grounds of the Biltmore Estate

*The lower elevations of the Blue Ridge Parkway

*Your cabin porch at Willow Winds!

Visit us during the week and save money! Any NEW reservation made for a stay at our cabins for a weekday (two or more nights Sunday through Thursday) will receive 10% off the entire stay! Willow Winders receive 20% off. Reservations must be for a stay in November or December 2016, and this deal excludes the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mention that you saw this blog if making a reservation over the phone, or put in the Special Requests section when making an online reservation.

We came here for a short getaway from our home & faily in Michigan and we’ve had a wonderful time. The Willow Winds property proved to be all that it had promised and then some. We hope to return with our kids sometime. Asheville was a lot of fun too — very different from what we’re used to. Our favorite eatery was Jack of the Wood’s, We tried the Scotch eggs, some local brew’s and the Sheppard’s pie…all accompanied by some very talented bluegrass musicians.

Thanks Willow Winds for a great place to stay
