We found Willow winds while researching for our 2nd annual girl’s trip ~ three sisters and our wonderful mother. We had a wonderful time at Beautiful Biltmore! It was nice to come back to “Mom’s Manor” and relax. We loved the pond, fountains, and hot tub. After a day of walking it was a nice retreat.

Thanks for a most relaxing and memorable atmosphere to enjoy time with my sisters and mother. We Loved It!!

Plan An Unforgettable Fall Trip to Asheville.

This is it. This is the season we look forward to year round. While every season offers something special in Asheville, Fall is in a whole other league. There is a crispness to the air, and a warmth to the people (if we may say so ourselves) that means that a gorgeous time of year is upon us. With Autumn in Asheville, you not only get a change in the environmental aesthetic, but you have lots of opportunities for activities and events, and mother nature is (usually) on your side. While we are never sure when the leaf change will be in Asheville, chances are good that you would be only a short drive – thanks to our proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway – to a spot of gorgeous color.

Fall Foliage Predictions are still pretty fresh, so results may vary:

Oct 7 – 14: Expect colors to develop in elevations above 5,000 feet. ex) Mt. Mitchell, Graveyard Fields, Black Balsam.

Oct 12-19: Color starts to show between 4,000 and 5,000 feet elevation. ex)Mount Pisgah, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Devil’s Courthouse.

Oct 17 – 26: Leaves turn at the 3,000 – 4,000 ft elevation. Large sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway have color, including Cherokee and Bryson City.

Oct 24 – Nov 1: Asheville!

Oct 30 – Nov 6: Lower elevations like Chimney Rock will see the changes.

Staying at Greg’s Cabin at Willow Winds proved to be a great choice. I loved having my green tea in the morning on the outdoor balcony looking out at the Tulip trees and listening to the sounds of the fountains. The location was perfect: close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Downtown Asheville, and the Airport. There is so much to do here in this beautiful and majestic landscape!
