While you can enjoy visiting Asheville year-round, spring is a special time to visit. With the trees budding and flowers blooming and warmer days, it’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature. Discover how you can enjoy Asheville in the spring with these activities and attractions.
Biltmore Blooms
Visit the Biltmore in the spring to see one of the most impressive displays of colorful blooms and gardens. Beginning of April, running through the end of May, the Biltmore hosts their annual spring event, Biltmore Blooms. Visitors can enjoy acres and acres of beautiful flowers, shrubs, and trees, plus complimentary wine tastings at their winery and a variety of outdoor activities.
Visitors can walk amongst rows and rows of blossoming flowers with 100,000 bulbs planted. Guests will find elegant tulips at the entrance to the estate. Plus, an even bigger display of 50,000 tulips, 1,000 hyacinths, and 14,000 daffodils in the Walled Garden. It is truly a magnificent site!
Asheville Botanical Gardens
Asheville’s Botanical Gardens offers a quiet and intimate space within the city filled with colorful gardens, walking paths, and expansive greens, the perfect place to unwind. Visitors are encouraged to listen to the sound of the trickling stream on the property while they enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
A half-mile loop trail takes visitors throughout the gardens, which are handicap accessible. See an authentic cabin and springhouse along the way. Take a break in the gazebo or rest on any of the benches provided.
April and May are ideal for viewing exquisite floral displays. In addition to many other types of flowers, the Trillium blooms cover the slopes of the mountainside, creating a stunning show of color and natural beauty.
Visit Craggy Gardens
On the tail end of spring, in June, a visit to see the rhododendrons at Craggy Gardens is a must. Located along the Blue Ridge Parkway mile-marker 469, Craggy Gardens is a unique area filled with twisted and jagged trees, tall grasses, wild blueberries, mountain views, and vibrant rhododendrons that bloom every June. The 1.4-mile trail is an easy hike and makes for a great stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The North Carolina Arboretum
For one of the best public gardens in Asheville, visit the North Carolina Arboretum. Spanning 434 acres, the garden is located within the Pisgah National Forest. It features hiking trails, well-manicured gardens, and displays like the Bonsai and Orchid exhibits. The NC Arboretum is located on Route 191, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, at mile marker 393. Stay at Asheville Cabins of Willows Winds

Of course, one of the best ways to experience Asheville in the spring is with a stay at Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds.
